Slate-throated Whitestart

Myioborus miniatus ballux

A widespread and common resident of humid to wet forest. It is the only Myioborus with a dark throat.

While it chases down flushing small prey it whirls and dashes in little aerobatic loops and lunges. Often also periods of relative calm. It hops along branches and constantly pivots and postures with wings half spread. A saucy behaviour like if its playing "catch me if you can". Often seen alone.
